I have been thinking for sometime now that the cow is to be loved and cared for. But there is another word which comes to mind after reading Jayadeva entry: "sacred". Although it seems that many Hindus have taken a good idea too far (which is what human beings do) and let the cows run wild in the streets, the general idea of cows being precious and lovable and, yes, sacred is a terrific idea!!!!!!! The cow is sacred. And if we treat the cow thusly, both the cow and we benefit.
